Cat Acclimation Guide

A gentle start, at your cat’s pace.

Most cats settle in within a few days to a couple of weeks. These steps help your cat get comfortable with LitterLux.

   Day 1Set it up where your cat already goes

   Put LitterLux next to your cat’s current box, in a quiet spot your cat already knows. Keep the old box there for now.

   Day 1Make it smell like home

   Fill LitterLux with the litter your cat already uses, then add a scoop from the old box. That familiar scent tells your cat this box is safe.

   Days 1–3Start with automatic cleaning off

   Leave the unit unplugged or turned off at first, and scoop by hand. Your cat can explore it as an ordinary box with no movement or sound.

   Days 3–5Introduce the cleaning cycle

   Once your cat is using LitterLux, turn it on. Start a cycle while your cat is nearby but not inside, and offer a treat and praise so the sound feels normal.

   Days 5–7Let automatic cleaning take over

   Turn automatic cleaning on. Use the app to check visits and cycles and make sure your cat keeps using the box.

   Week 2Phase out the old box

   Once your cat is choosing LitterLux every time, stop cleaning the old box so your cat prefers the fresh one, then remove it.
